Mucky Nutz Bender Fender XL Black. The Mucky Nutz Bender Fender XL is the original and Patent Pending fork mounted mudguard. The XL Bender Fender is the same thickness as the Standard Bender Fender but provides ultimate protection at a modest 32g. Like most folk the guys at Mucky Nutz dont like using large, ugly mudguards, so decided to look at other options. After many failures and even uglier mudguards the penny dropped and they came up with the Bender Fender. Weighing from just 11g without fasteners its the lightest and most versatile mudguard available. It can be used either as a fork mounted mudguard to protect the face and fork seals or as a rear fender to protect your rear shock andor front mech. Made from sheet thermoplastic, the profile of the mudguard is shaped so that when its installed on the fork via the hook and loop fasteners, it catches mud, spray and whatever else you might pick up...! The fact that the mudguard is installed so close to your knobbly bits means it can be small and discrete, making it a big plus for riders who dont like using guards and at less than 1mm thick adds negligible weight to your bike. The hook and loop fasteners act as a simple and quick way to install and detach the mudguard. If you intend to leave it on all year round like many riders do, then you can also use zipties for a more permanent solution. As with the original Bender Fender it can be used up front on the fork or at the rear to protect the rear shock and front mech. It even looks good when on. Win, win!!!
